What's Happening at the Museum

11-14 September - The 148th Field Artillery (WWII) will hold it's 59th Annual Reunion Sept. 11-14 this year, at the Ameritel Inn in Bend, OR.   Relatives, friends, members and former members of the 148th FA, anyone and everyone interested, are welcome to attend all or part of the reunion.   Click here for all the details.

27 September - Annual Museum Comes to Life.  WWII Bivouac Site and Living History Displays.  Idaho State Historical  Society,  Julia Davis Park, Boise.

October - Annual Membership Meeting and Elections.  More information will be posted as it becomes available.

5 November - Larry Gebert of Channel 7 will be doing his morning show at the Museum to highlight our Veterans’ Day Night Fire IV.

8 November - Veteran's Day Parade, downtown Boise.  Featuring  Civil War Marching Unit and WWII Jeep Mounted Unit.

8 November - Veteran's Day Open House, Night Fire IV at the Museum.  Featuring: Blank Firing Demo of Military Weapons, from Revolutionary War to Global War on Terror.

4 December - Pearl Harbor Day Preview.  Larry Gebert of Channel 7 will be doing his morning show at the Museum to highlight Pearl Harbor Day.  Be sure and tune in!

7 December - Pearl Harbor Day.  The Museum will be open at 10:00 am and our Pearl Harbor Exhibit will be open for viewing.  Please join us as we pay tribute to the day which "will live in infamy."

  Gayle Alvarez reads Landsman Barter’s Biography and a brief recap on the two battles for Fort Fisher during the Civil War.   It was standing room only!

Lieutenant Commander Thein, Commander of the Naval Reserve, read Landsman Barter’s Medal of Honor citation into the record.

Congressman Otter who assisted with coordination on Landsman Barters Medal of Honor, spoke after unveiling the new Medal of Honor Exhibit.

Latah County Commissioner Kimmell spoke briefly, expressing appreciation for all the efforts to get Landsman Barter's Medal to Idaho.

In recognition of National Medal of Honor Day, Larry Thomason, great grandson of Philippine Insurrection Medal of Honor Recipient read Longfellow’s citation and

Dennis Neibaur, Fifth Cousin of Thomas Neibaur, WWI Medal of Honor Recipient, reads Neibaur’s citation.

We were honored to have Medal of Honor Recipients MAJ Ed Freeman and Col Bernie Fisher join us on this historic day.
